Mary Lin Education Foundation
The Mary Lin Education Foundation, Inc. was created in 2008 with the help and support of the PTA. The mission of the foundation is to help Mary Lin Elementary School achieve its educational goals by providing instructional, physical, and technological opportunities for the enrichment of Mary Lin students. Like the foundations at Morningside Elementary, Inman Middle, and Grady High, we want to do all we can to insure success for our teachers and students.See Foundation Documents by clicking below:

The goal of the foundation is to tap into other sources of funding (corporate, donations, grants, etc.) to expand opportunities at Mary Lin Elementary. Where the PTA focuses on year-to-year goals that support the school and community, the foundation develops long-range plans. These plans are made with the guidance of the Mary Lin principal and staff.
As of May, non-profit status paperwork has been filed with the IRS. Hopefully, we'll have our tax-exempt status beginning in the fall of 2008.
THIS YEAR’S GOALS (developed with the Mary Lin Leadership Team)
- SPECTRUM TEST BOOKS (approx $3300): a one-time purchase that will help improve students test-taking skills.
- ACCELERATED READER SUBSCRIPTION (approx $800): An annual license fee per student was paid for by APS last year but is now Mary Lin’s responsibility to keep this software that helps improve student reading and comprehension.
- PROMETHEAN BOARDS (approx $18,000): These interactive whiteboards would ultimately be installed in all of Mary Lin’s classes.
- PROFESSIONAL TEACHER DEVELOPMENT (approx $5000): last year Mary Lin teachers benefited from a one-time grant from APS that provided outside training to improve their math-teaching skills.
- OUTDOOR WEATHER STATION (approx $200): Teachers have requested the actual equipment (thermometers, anemometer, barometer, etc.) to allow students to get a broader understanding of how science can help explain our environment.
