Back to School Night
Is in the fall, and the teachers will share important information about the challenging learning activities they will be engaging the students in this year. Back-to-School night is best enjoyed by everyone as an adults-only event. Please make every effort to attend without children in tow.
Banking with BOND
Let our community federal credit union help teach your child the value of saving. Each month an employee will meet with students at 7:45 in the Media Center.
Book Fair (Scholastic)
This annual book sale fundraiser brings the most exciting new books to kids of all ages.
Box Tops for Education

Career Day
Each Spring Mary Lin asks for volunteers to come share their work experiences with students. BRENDA STROMAN
Chess Club
Volunteer parents have offered their talents for over 25 years to teaching students the skills and strategies of chess in a low-stress way weekday mornings from 7:15-7:45 in the Media Center.
Council of Intown Neighborhood and Schools
Exploring resources, identifying critical issues, and seeking solutions to problems in the Grady Cluster of school Monthly meetings are open to all. More info at www.cinsatlanta.org.
Fall Gift Sale (Innisbrook)
Our biggest fundraiser provides outstanding gifts and wrapping paper for family, neighbors, and friends.
Family Fun Feast
Twice a year families gather on the playground at school to eat, play, and socialize. Volunteers help make this cookout, potluck, or pizza night fun for all.
Foundation (Mary Lin Education Foundation)
Providing resources for our staff and students with a long-term vision is the goal here. Learn more at www.MaryLinFoundation.org.
Gardening and Wellness
Help with the student garden or with nutrition in the classroom and cafeteria.
Grounds Workdays
Spruce up the Mary Lin campus or help maintain the playground and ball field on one of our cleanup days.
Halloween Carnival
Bring families up to school, have some fun, and scare your friends.
Math Superstars
Since 1998, this program has complemented math learned in the classroom with morning (7:30am) and some afternoon classes in the Media Center.
Media Center Volunteers
Spend a few minutes shelving books in the busiest elementary school library in APS or help students check out new books.
Olympic Day
Mary Lin’s version of Field Day. Volunteers help in many ways.
Operation Care Basket
Each Thanksgiving we collect food donations to provide a festive holiday for local families in need.
Penny Harvest
Students learn about community involvement and service through collecting pennies that are distributed to non-profits. This year-long program uses volunteers to help students guide their donations. More info at www.pennyharvest.org.
Principal’s Coffee
Each month Dr. Mitchell hosts a Q&A and presentation at school. All are invited.
School Partners
Help build strong relationships between businesses and Mary Lin. Whether financial support or in-kind donations, Mary Lin loves its community partners.
School Supply Sale
Making back-to-school shopping easier, this PTA service takes place online over the summer and at the very beginning of school. Parents can pay one price and have all their student’s classroom needs delivered to Mary Lin.
Science Night
This is one of Mary Lin’s most popular nights of fun and learning. Volunteers help set-up, clean-up, and assist student scientists. Visiting scientists from Zoo Atlanta, Emory, and beyond provide terrific lessons at this popular event. Kids love this event!!
Story Share Book Swap
Twice a year, students bring in “gently used” books to swap with other students. This no-cost book drive allows all students the opportunity to explore new worlds through reading.
Talent Show
Our annual talent show gives students a chance to shine. Help plan and organize this terrific event for the kids.
Visiting Artists Program
Work with others on PTA-financed cultural arts programs brought into Mary Lin (think in-school field trips). These provide great learning experiences for students without the cost in time or money of traveling off-campus. Help with artist communications, set-up support, and teacher needs.
Walk-to-School Days
Reinforcing our terrific neighborhoods and healthy exercise, Mary Lin encourages everyone to walk to school each Friday.
Yearbook Committee
Help put together a treasure for your child. Throughout the year pictures are gathered and pages are laid out on this fundraiser that supports the school through the Mary Lin Education Foundation.
