As you know, the district is experiencing a 14% budget cut and that will affect all schools as well as the district. What that means for Mary Lin is that our budget was reduced by approximately $185,000. There was a reserve built in to each school budget and we lost the $100,000 that was in there. The other $85,000 was balanced by cutting transportation for field trips, reducing the number of substitute days for each teacher, and reducing the amount in the materials and supplies line item. I am confident that we will be able to continue our high level of education and am happy to report that the cuts did not result in any job loss.
